Common questions
Does the wet food contain any bone content?
Occasionally, yes - small pieces of bone can be found in the wet food, and this is declared on the tin. Although they can feel hard or sharp when you come across one, they have been contained within the moisture of the food for such a long period that they soften compared with dry or cooked bone, and are considered safe for consumption. If you find a piece that concerns you, send us a photo with the batch and date code from the top of the tin and we will look into it with the manufacturer.
How long does a tin last once opened?
Once opened, keep the tin covered in the fridge and use it within 2-4 days. A 400g tin typically does a small dog two days when fed alongside dry food. If your dog will not eat it fridge-cold, take the day's portion out a little early to come up to room temperature - cold food straight from the fridge is a common reason for refusal rather than dislike of the food itself.
Can I mix this with dry food?
Yes - mixed feeding works well. The one rule: reduce each proportionally rather than feeding the full amount of both, or the calories quietly double up. If you tell us your dog's weight and how much wet food you want to feed per day, we will work out the right dry amount to go alongside it.
How do I transition my dog onto this food?
Go slowly - this is the single most common mistake we see. Start with a small amount mixed into the current food, and build the proportion up gradually over 7-10 days, watching that stools stay settled. For dogs with sensitive stomachs, go even slower. If your dog does get an upset stomach during the switch, pause: go back to the previous ratio until things settle, then reintroduce more slowly.
